150 X 50 X 50 CM&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Stainless Steel&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; 2025These three works have been commissioned by Museum Villa in Amsterdam.Kick Veldman and Boris de Beijer joined forces, shaping new meaning around basins. 
Diving into the way water behaves, the work visualises its flow and celebrates/emphasises its natural movement.
By exposing the object’s mechanical properties, the piece invites a reframing of the sink as a site of value and attention. Through refined craftsmanship, a simple and ordinary fixture transforms into a sculptural, architectural statement, strongly inviting to give thought to everyday elements we are surrounded by.

SIX STEP LADDER175 x 40 x 7 cmCast Aluminium2024SIX STEP LADDER” celebrates the significance, versatility, and symbolic meanings that ladders carry. Their undefined context and often temporary presence inspired this piece. Made out of cast, recycled aluminum—including old, broken ladders—it embodies a cycle of rebirth, where reuse and reinvention take center stage, bridging gaps along the way.

An old oil barrel equipped with a doubled wall, heavy duty door, exhaust and air intake. &#38;nbsp;Fired with coals and added oxygen using hairdryers. Sand is filled between the walls to act as insulation. This thing reaches up to 850º Celcius, more than enough to melt aluminium.

    The IJSKAST 
(icebox)
85 X 60 X 100 CMAluminium, Steel, PU Insulation, MDF, Rubber2022The leading object. All work is done to maintain the function of this apparatus. Inspired by the old icebox, but taken to a new level. The aluminium exterior reflects sunlight, the PU insulated walls and doors keeps the heat out and the cold in. Place the block of ice in the top left compartment and cold air will start to circulate within the icebox.     The Ice Hook200 X 15 X 20 CMSteel2022This tool is based on the hook used in the ice harvest industry.     The Big Ice Saw
170 X 20 X 30 CMSteel2022Let’s bring in the heavyweight! Other than the “Small” Ice Saw, this big boy is really good at making long, straight cuts, following the lines previously made using The Plough. 
It’s weight, shape, strength and length makes it possible to cut up to 70 cm of ice.     The Ice Chain Tongs
55 X 25 X 3 CMSteel2022To efficiently transport the blocks to and from the cargo sled, these tongs are used. The chains makes for a flexible opening and closing of the jaws. Once lifted, the weight of the ice clamps itself between the spikes. These types of tongs make it possible to carry the blocks using one hand.     The Plough

    The Cargo Sled

In western society, it can be easy for people to assume clean drinkingwater from tap is the ordinary, whilst this only counts for 55% of the world’s population. We should be searching for suitable solutions for communities in need. Why wait for technology and recognition to catch up? Individuals can make the difference, not only by achieving, but also by inspiring for just trying. This installation cleans water using sun rays, no other source is needed. It took a while but eventually i was able to drink the water from the river. It still isn’t the ideal sollution since it can’t filter out chemicals. Though, it is the persuit that matters most.I see this work as a representation of this process.

Once upon a time there was a famous sea captain. &#38;nbsp;This captain was very successful at what he did; for years he guided merchant ships all over the world. Fulfilling the needs of consumers by transporting goods from production place to marketplace.Never did stormy seas or pirates get the best of him. &#38;nbsp;He was admired by his crew and fellow captains. &#38;nbsp;However, there was one thing different about this captain. Every morning he went through a strange ritual. &#38;nbsp;He would lock himself in his captain's quarters and open a small safe. &#38;nbsp;In the safe was an envelope with a piece of paper inside. &#38;nbsp;He would stare at the paper for a minute, and then lock it back up. After, he would go about his daily duties.For years this went on, and his crew became very curious. &#38;nbsp;Was it a treasure map? &#38;nbsp;Was it a letter from a long lost love? &#38;nbsp;Everyone speculated about the contents of the strange envelope.One day the captain died at sea. &#38;nbsp;After laying the captain's body to rest, the first mate led the entire crew into the captains’ quarters. &#38;nbsp;He opened the safe, got the envelope, opened it and...
